Zeera pulao with lahori chargha

Zeera pulao

So chargha is the same recipe as my previous post with lahori chargha ,if interested just scroll back a bit

Fir rice

1cup bastami rice /soak for about an hour or longer

1tbsp cumin/zeera

1 tbsp mixed spices/whole garam masala that usually includes cardamom,cloves,black pepper,corriander ,bayleaf etc or u can use 2/3of each of the spices

1/4tsp all spice/garam masala

3/4tsp salt

1/4cup oil

Half onion finely sliced

1tsp shan pulao biryani masala/optional but it gives a really good flavour

Add oil to a pan that can be closed tightly when cooking ,fry the onion in it when brown add the whole spices fry 1 minute

Add salt and other spices

Add 2-2.5cups water

Once boils add drained rice and cook on med heat till it boil again and rice absorbs about half of water ,then turn heat to very low cover with the lid tightly if any heat escaping u can first line with aluminum foil and then put a lid,now don’t touch it for 20 minutes ,after 20min it should be ready ,fluff with a fork and enjoy!!
