Scalloped potato meat pot pie


So this is something we love at home ,today I added some different flavours ,I will link the previous recipe too

Whats not to like here, flavourful meat ,cheese and scalloped potatoes 😋never lasts long!

For base layer :

  • Minced Beef or meat of choice 11/2 lbs

  • Olive oil 2 tbsp

  • Garlic 4 cloves minced

  • Green and red pepper diced

  • Green chillies 4 sliced

  • Carrots 3/4 small diced

  • Onion 1 small diced

  • 2tsp all purpose or wheat flower

  • 11/2tsp salt

  • 11/2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1tsp cayenne

  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes

  • 1tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp tut

  • 1tsp curry powder

For potatoes

  • 3-4 potatoes thinly sliced

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1tbsp butter

  • 1/4tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Other:

  • 1 puff pastry roll

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F

  • Grease your pan and add pastry to it lining upto the sides

  • Bake for 10 minutes then set aside

  • Heat oil in pan and add meat,brown and then add garlic all spices and veggies and add little water to let cook 10 minutes or so

  • For potatoes in a deep small pan melt butter on stove add potatoes and spices fry a min and be careful not to move it too much ,add the milk so potatoes are submerged ,cover and cook 8 minutes

  • Now on pie base add meat then cheese and then potatoes in whatever way u like ,some days Im fancy other days not so much,last time i made it ,it was really pretty 😂


  • Now pour all that milk mixture on top

  • I used the leftover pastry to make that braid and circles as the desi aunty roots in me wont let it go to waste🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes till golden
