Pogaca

I ate these soft buttery amazing dinner roll kinda thing when I visited my cousin in Europe few years ago ,so I learnt its a traditional Turkish bread,thanks syma for the dough recipe

these are soft,amazing bread/dinner rolls filled with different stuffing of your choice

  • oil 1 cup

  • yogurt 1 cup

  • warm milk 1cup

  • warm water 1 cup

  • 1tsp salt

  • 1tbsp sugar

  • 1 pack yeast or 21/4 tsp

  • 3-4 cups all purpose flour , may need more

  • for stuffing i used ricotta 1/2 cup

  • spinach 3 cups

  • one onion finely diced

  • 1/2 tsp salt and black pepper

  • 1tsp oil

  1. in oil add onion fry 1-2 min add spinach salt and pepper then put aside ,add cheese when cooled

  2. for dough i just put every thing in mixer and mixed till sticky dough start with 31/2 cups flour add more as needed if too runny, this is a bit softer than typical bread dough add more flour as needed,you can knead by hand

  3. cover and let rise for an hour or till doubles in size

  4. then divide into equal balls it made 18 for me

  5. roll each ball a bit into rectangular kind of shape put stuffing on on dide and fold the edge over using knife or pizza cutter make cuts and the fold over and roll ,see pictures/or just stuff in mid and keep it simple bun/round

  6. cover with parchment paper

and then wer paper towel let rise another 20 minutes

  1. brush with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds

  2. bake at 375 for 18-22 minutes till brown
