Garlic knots

  • 11/2cups  warm water 

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Yeast /1 pack instant yeast

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons  olive oil

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 

for Topping

  • 6Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 3 garlic cloves,

  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs i used

basil,oregano and marjoram

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  1. mix all bread ingredients knead by hand or in mixer , cover and let rise for 1hour or longer at room temperature

  2. after an hour roll the dough into a long log about 18-18 inches

  3. divide it equally into 16-18 parts

  4. then each part roll with hands into 6-8 inch logs and then tie into knots

  5. tuck the ends under

  6. put in baking tray

  7. cover and let rise for half hour

  8. melt butter with herbs salt and garlic in microwave

  9. brush butter mix on knots

  10. bake at 400F for 21-25 minutes till brown

  11. brush more butter if wanted once out of oven
