Pita

  • 1 Cup Warm Water

  • 2 Tsp Sugar

  • 2 1/4 tsp or one pack instant yeast

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 3/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour

Dough:

  • I just put everything in stand mixer and made the dough till mixed , can knead with hands

  • Add little more water if too dry

  • Coat the inside of a large bowl with a little oil, put the dough in it. Put in a warm location, i put it on the counter above my dishwasher when its running😊cover and let rise until doubled in volume, about one hour or can leave longer

  • preheat oven to 475F

  • Put the cast iron pan in the oven 20minutes before baking so it gets really hot or use pizza stone if u have one

  • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, and make round balls, i let them sit again covered for half hour as it was too early to make dinner but ot doesnt need to sit again,roll each piece into a round flat bread,dont make it too big ,around 6”maybe🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Place 1 piece at a time onto the hot pan bake 2-3 minutes till u see it all poofed up😂then flip with tongs and cook another1-2 minutes

  • Dont cook too much they should only be lightly gold not browned

  • Put in a plate covered with kitchen towel to keep soft
